Using the photoshop to remove the red tones from a Nikon D1 image.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have recently acquired a Nikon D1 and I am getting the red skin tones that everyone has been writing about, and I wanted to know how to remove the red skin tones using Photoshop.

The skin tone thing seems very tricky. Check our review of the D1 for links to a couple of third-party programs (Qimage and Bibble) that seem to offer much-improved color handling...

Which version of Photoshop are you using? Try Hue/Saturation adjustments on the red channel. This always does it for me.

Take a look at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp? forum=1014&message=295473 for a good step by step example of how one person is solving the problem in Photoshop. You can vary the changes to get the end result you like.
