Phone Service Cut Off
Two-thousand west valley homes are still without phone service. Construction workers accidently cut a cable in the area of 73rd Avenue and Deer Valley Road yesterday afternoon.
More than 30-thousand residents originally lost the use of their telephones. Authorities worked with U-S West to arrange for those affected to still be able to dial 9-1-1 in case of emergency. Those still having trouble can go to Peoria Fire Station number two at 89th Avenue and Union Hills, or the Campbells Mercantile located at 91st Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road. All telephone service is expected to be restored by sometime this morning.
