Newcastle so in spotlight (TSM ref just for Jonno).

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Since Monday, the parallels between Keegan's England and Keegan's Newcastle keep being drawn. The irritation is when reports say "Newcastle was a failure, a doomed bandwagon". Or when MARK LAWRENSON has the NERVE to talk of how shit KK's tactics were and that during his SHORT (his word) spell as defensive coach, the first thing he did was to recommend KK get rid of the shit defenders in the team and how relieved he was when TSM bought some good quality defenders. GOOD QUALITY DEFENDERS????!!!! The worst is, though, a reporter asking whether Keegan had apologised for his failure at Newcastle?Apologise. He doesn't need to apologise to the only people who matter. Toon fans. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I'm sorry for taking Newcastle into the top 6 for the first time in 50 years.

I sorry for being responsible for ultimately replacing Mick Quinn with ALan Shearer.

I'm sorry Newcastle only played in Europe for the first time in 20 years.

Yes, I'm Sorry

Seems that there were more managers with shit-tactics every seasons during KK's era than we know of because Newcastle was right up there all those time.

Dougie - he did bring in Dabizas after all.

Oi! What do you lot think you're doing talking about Newcastle United! On here of all places. What is the world coming to.

I see sarcasm isn't dead....

Every topic is open for discussion as far as I'm concerned....not exactly a lot happening to discuss with NUFC at the moment either is there?

Apparently NUFC sent a representative to watch Joao Pinto! Mmm that might be Bobby Robson perhaps?!

Well stone me with a big stone shaped stoney thing that is marked down for stoning someone. The Guardian reports that Fiorentina are ready to offer Pinto #80,000 a week.

TSM's defensive acquisitions - Carl Serrant, Nic Dabizas, Des Hamilton, Laurent Charvet, Sandro Pistone, Andy Griffen, Shay Given, Lionel Blair Perez - ie. mostly bad, with one or two exceptions.
ps: Mark Lawrenson is a failed defensive coach, a failed TV pundit, an ugly git with a whimpy voice, and a highly successful tosser! I thank you.

PINTO

The Newcastle offer is supposedly around 20,000 pw. Cheapskates! :-) So what will it be, Lake Como for 4mill a year or Newbiggin for 1mill. Toughie isn't it?
