Fast printer for print straight from CF cards

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hi: I currently have the Epson 750 printer. (Great printer by the way!) I'm considering dabbling in event photography and was considering purchasing a inexpensive dyesub printer 4x6" prints that takes CompactFlash cards. I know the Epson 875 (I know this is an inkjet)can take these cards but not sure how it works with printing 4x6. Will it let you consolidate 4 prints per page? Or is it better to go with a Kodak, Canon, Sony, or? dyesub for this work.

The 875 will print 4X6" prints on roll paper. For event photography you may also want to consider the next size up, the 1270 since you can print larger images on demand with it. YOu would then need a computer as well, however that would give you the ability to touch up and personalize images as well which would add to the impact.

You might want to look at HP's P1000 or P1100, it does a great job and has a 4x6 tray or will do multiple prints per 8x11 sheet.
