Digital Workshop?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I've been working with digital imaging for about a year and a half and I would now like to improve my skills another notch. I would appreciate suggestions for educational resources, such as workshops, seminars or very comprehensive books. I think I have a pretty good understanding of photoshop so I'm not interested in a "how to use photoshop 101" type of presentation. I am interested in learning how to get more control over the whole digital process--calibrating a system for color consistency, getting the most out of a slide scan, improving printing quality, etc. I'm located in the Pacific Northwest, but I would consider traveling elsewhere in the West for a good workshop.

You could do a lot worse than visiting Adobe's website for starters. There are longstanding features on subjects like colour management and scanning workflow here, and regularly updated tips here. I think these might be the sort of thing you were looking for.
