Whose Appy Now - I loved it!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

This episode on the TNT reruns Monday just cracked me up! I laughed through most of it. There were some serious parts, of course, but I thought it was more funny than not. The scene with Carter in the operating room playing that song, then playing "Mack the Knife," taking pictures with the Polaroid, and then Peter's hallucination of Carter saying "Dr. Benton, I'm pregnant!" were all priceless!

And the thing with Jerry and the staph infection was just gross. But it was funny when Jerry spewed out his drink in the background when Mark's women finally caught him. It was funny because I was drinking a glass of water myself at that moment and when I saw Jerry choke on his drink when Mark got caught, it made me laugh and I did the same thing!

I guess the nurses really appreciated Carol more when she got back. Is tonight's episode the one where she gets caught in the robbery?

I loved "Whose Appy Now?," too! Parts of it were so classic! I thought the scene where Dr. Hicks told Carter they were doing an appy and he said, "An appy? That's kind of boring!" and she said, "Ah, but you haven't seen the patient yet!" Then he looked out and saw Peter and exclaimed, "There is a God!" ;o) The whole case scenario w/ Mark and his three(four if you include Chuny)women was hilarious, too, especially since it reminded me so much of Doug in the first season. The line when Mark was asking him what to do and Doug commented on how those days are over and Mark asks, "Well, what do you do now?" and Doug replies, "Give advice!" Who would've thought that Mark would go out with all of them at once? When Nina Pomerantz told him that if he ever had "the urge to go out with three women at once again, snap it!" made me crack up. Frankly, I think Mark deserved what he got! "Whose Appy Now?" was classic "ER" blending humor with drama and it once again made me realize how much I love Season 3. It's the best! And yes, tonight's ep. is "The Long Way Around" when Carol gets caught in the robbery. I've never seen it.

P.S. Sorry so long! :-)

That is one of my favorite episodes! I love it when they use humor!

I loved it as well. This is what I meant when I said there was a differnce between 3rd and 6th season. They had more fun in that season then this season. I think after Doug left it started going downhill in the fun department. Then Lucy died. Ever since her death it hasn't been the same. Now Carol is gone. We'll have to wait until October to see what happens.

I forgot to mention the scene with Carter and Maggie where she said "That's my ex-girlfriend" and Carter goes "Girlfriend???" and then he shoots the exit sign!

Yeah, that is definetly a classic ER episode that we all miss. I agree that Doug's leaving (and now Carol's) really changed things; I'm not saying for the worst, but they are still missed today, it least by me! And remembering some early season 5 epis, Lucy's scenes were kind of funny too (the carrot deal/ losing the body on Vanishing Act) Even watching Union Station was sad, because since I started watching right after Susan left, of course I didn't miss her, but I think I would have. Poor Mark, they did belong together. Hopefully Elizabeth and him will be okay...but back to topic: Who's Appy Now...all the characters were at their prime...Carter determined but still goofy, Doug at the very beginning of his reforming, Mark getting all the girls, but through inexperience, it falls through. Someone please tell me, didn't Carter go down to the ER and show everyone the pictures? I swore he did, but I didn't see it, did they cut it out or am I just imagining it?

My favorite part was when Polly said to Mark "You're not sick," and he replied "No, but I am starting to feel a little nauseous"!

They show Benton's operation pictures on "Faith".

That episode really was classic Carter in the OR. I couldn't stop laughing after that scene!! And the "Snap it!" at the end was hysterrical!!! Definitely one of the best!!
