SPLITTING HUMAN VOICE AND BACKGROUND MUSIC IN A .WAV FILE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hello everyone!!!

I would like to create my own videoke music and store them in a CD from .wav files of songs in the 50s and 60s so I have to separate the musical background fromt he voice.

I have a Cool Edit Pro 1.0 and 1.1 with me and I am trying to figure out how to use it to make the separation. Unfortunately, I can not. Can someone possibly help me on how to do it with this utility? Perhaps, a specific topic in the Help menu will be helful. Would also appreciate if someone can also recommend to me other utilities that can do the job.

I read a previous message from tygrus (tygrus200@hotmail.com), June 03, 2000 to Rakesh Thomas (rthomas1001@excite.com) on the same subject.

Thank you.

Philip, I suggested those programs, CoolEdit Pro, SoundForge and CakeWalk because they are the premier sound editing programs, and I have a friend who claims one of these will split voice from music, I am just not sure which one. SoundForge is powerful also, try and get a copy of that if you can and maybe it will be easier.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Philip,

I almost gave up on this. I did a lot of research on this after I got some hint from Tygrus about the tools. I couldn't find a copy of SoundForge4.5. I tried with CoolEdit Pro(30 day trial version which is not let me save anything). The help on this is very limited. But while i am researching I got a script that claims that will filter the voice from a wav file. I don't know this is going to work with your CoolEdit Pro 1.1 version. If you want the script e-mail me. Please give credit to the script Author Younglove. And If you find anything good please let us know.

Thanks, Rakesh Thomas

Rakesh,

Do you have an idea with what program the script is suppose to work with?

Thank you

hi guys,

If you are looking for soundForge or any audio programs. go to www.navnetwork.net and search for it or www.beam.to/darkcity

I'm sure you will find what you're looking for - full version as well.

Anyway I have the same problem with creating karoke vcd. I want to copy karoke DVD to karaoke vcd but once I converted to VCD the audio isnt' right. It converted to stereo audio in which the sounds (interlude and vocal) are not separated in a different channel to enable karaoke function.

If anyone out there who knows how to convert a karaoke DVD to karaoke VCD please help me.

Thanks in advance
