Photoshop plug-in and barrel distortion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

All(!) digital cameras w zoom lenses produce barrel distortion (outbulging of parallel lines) at their wide angle settings. "Dewarp" for the Nikon990 in PhotoGenetics (available on this site) works well with my Fuji4700, but is there a plug-in available for Photoshop? Thanks.

Yes, I'm sure I've seen one that gives a "waisted" effect somewhere, or it might be an "inflate/deflate" effect. Trouble is, I've got Plug-in filters from Kai, Alienskin, and half-a-dozen others, and I really can't keep track of them all. They're the sort of thing you play with once and forget about. If I remember I'll go through them all and get back on this.

Andromeda Software just announced a software plug-in for Photoshop (both Mac and Win) called Lens Doc that corrects both barreling and pincushioning and provides for perspective adjustments. You can find more info at www.andromeda.com where you can also download a FREE demo version to "try before you buy".
