"Fried Green Tomatoes". I could watch it over and over again, and the book is great too. It's sweet, touching, inspiring, and it makes my husband gag. Can't ask for anything more than that! :)

"Steel Magnolias", sort of depressing but funny all the same, kind of slow but with impact, a lot like life. I also admit, I love action flicks, horror and sci-fi (good thing cause that's what my hubby likes). I guess I enjoy all kinds of movies because my favorites would have to be, "The King and I" and "The Sound of Music".

I don't know that it's a "guilty pleasure," per se, but my favorite movie of all time is the Judy Garland version of "A Star is Born," which I'm sure I've seen more than 100 times.

I'm a sucker for sappy stories.

Al, like you I saw 'Shanghai Noon' this weekend and was somewhat impressed. I liked it more than "Gone in Sixty Seconds". I won't spoil it for anyone, but there is a sleazy character in 'Sixty Seconds' that everyone goes through alot of trouble for and he simply isn't worth it. If I were involved in that movie I would have made him more likeable, as well as making the mom a bigger character that the viewers could relate to. (See the movie and you'll know what I am talking about.)

The same people who made 'Gone in Sixty Seconds' made 'ConAir'.

Now there's a guilty pleasure.

You really like Nicolas Cage in this movie. And you really like his family. The Trisha Yearwood song in the background that represented the love Nic and his wife shared was perfect.

Mix all this in with farfetched situations that keep him apart from his family, though he is trying to make his way back to them and you got me intrigued. Plus, the inspired casting of the great, great actor, John Malkovich as the ultimate bad guy and my eyes were glued to the movie screen.

Did I mention the fantastic special effects. Woo-hoo! I had a good time at that flick!

Back to Shanghai Noon. The only reasons I was just 'somewhat impressed' were 1.)I felt they should have made the Chinese Princess more kick-ass feisty and 2)the men and women who bonded at the end, I felt was wrong. I liked the original coupling they had nearer to the start of the movie. I would have built that up even more and kept it that way.

Other than that the movie was good. Owen Wilson is an upcoming actor to reckon with, despite his starring in the earlier stinker-peeyew (!!!)"Haunted House". He's got charisma galore and he definately is a funny guy.

"The Last Emperor" for one - - - any of the Marx Brothers movies - - - - "Lord of the Rings" for the special effects even though it came nowhere near the pictures in my head.

"Love Potion #9". I always have to watch that movie when it's on TV. And "The Wedding Singer" is a biggie too.

Can't get enough of those silly movies.

I can't think of one off the top of my head, but my best friend has this unhealthy need to watch that horrible "Back to the Beach" movie everytime it's on TV. If you're not familiar with this terrible late 80's classic, it stars Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon and Lori Laughlin, and the premise is: "Frankie and Annette grow up and have kids in the midwest. They return to LA to visit their daughter who is shacked up with her boyfriend and tries to hide the fact." Bla bla bla. Just believe me when I say, it is scary... ;)

"The Goodbye Girl" and "Chapter Two" I've seen them both an embarrassing number of times. I think I'm stil trying to figure out whether Marsha Mason is the best or worst actress of all time. Neil Simon is a genius, that I know.
