Help Printing Pictures from DC240

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm having trouble getting quality prints from my DC240. The pictures themselves look great in Photoshop but the print quality is way off. I have a new Epson Stylus 740 and am using a PCMCIA card reader to read the images. I am also using Photoshop 5.5 to resize the images and print onto 4x6 photo paper. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in addvance

I have a very similar setup with a DC280 and Epson 740 using P-Shop 5.5. Make sure that Photoshop isn't defaulting your images to 72 DPI, you'll want between 240 and 300 DPI for best quality prints. I like Epson's own Glossy Photo Paper and Pictorico's Glossy Paper or Film, make sure you're using the right paper and make sure you set the printer for Premium Glossy Photo Paper(Film) so you get the highest quality image. You may also check to see that you aren't doing "printer color management" (I think that's what it's called) in Photoshop as that can sometimes cause weird things to happen.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Keep trying as I'm sure you'll finally produce results you're pleased with. Feel free to email me if you want more input.
