Just watched a piece on the news about Congress proposing elimination of the "death" tax. The reporter ended the piece with something like "Democrats believe this only benefits the rich." And you say the media isn't bias! In reality the "death" tax is specifically a tax against the rich. It taxes people just because they are rich. It's money that has already been taxed and now it's taxed again because children of rich people don't deserve to have their parents money only the government deserves to have their parents money. So of course elimination of this tax benefits the rich but more appropriately it treats rich people as it treats poor people. Any thoughts?

Im not a defender of the rich  because Im not one of them, no enlightened self-interest involved  but the death tax is yet another unconscionable money grab. It should be eliminated. Now. Yesterday. This policy really hurts families who are left cash poor & land rich. No alternative but to sell the family farm in order to pay the bill, for example.
