KEVIN PHILLIPS could see his market value soar to #30million if he shines at Euro 2000.

The Sunderland striker, who joined from Watford for just #300,000 in 1997, would be worth more than David Beckham, Michael Owen or Robbie Fowler.

That is the view of agent Phil Smith, who says quality strikers are a rare commodity in Europe.

He said: "Someone like Phillips could well be worth between #20million and #30million after Euro 2000.

But it's also made of boiled down cow's hoof...cheap and stinks. About right for the inbreeds down the road.

Anyone seen "Cypriot Delights" or "Greek Delights"? Never go to a Greek Restaurant and ask for the Turkish variety - be warned!

I think it's yen. As my Dad said the other day, If Michael Owen and kevin Phillips were sold after Euro 2000, he'd gladly pocket the difference and he doesn't reckon Owen's worth more than 15!

This is roughly equivalent to me saying I'll be top of the European Order-of-Merit if I win the US Open in Pebble Beach shortly. The stark reality is that I won't be playing!

Perhaps it's just a tad coincidental that's it's his agent saying this. Hardly likely to say "If Kevin Phillips fails to play a part in England's Euro 2000 capaign, his market value could plummet to #1.5M". Nah - didn't think so. Now, somebody remind me - how do agents get paid? Anything to do with a percentage?? Thought so.
