Unable to find scanner

i disconnected my scanner for a few minutes. now when i try to scan something, a message pops up the says "CANNOT LOCATE/FIND SCANNER" it is a OpticPro. model 9630P. thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

You neglected to mention what kind of interface your scanner uses, but I hope it was USB? Most interfaces don't allow for hot plugging or unplugging. Have you shut your system down completely and rebooted since then? Unless it's a USB peripheral you'll need to in order for the computer to recognize the scanner. I suppose that depending on the driver you might even have to reboot for a USB peripheral in some cases.

Good Luck. -And I wouldn't make a habit of disconnecting or connecting anything that isn't intended for hot plugging while my computer was on.

Go to the sysem folder in the control panel select the device manager and click on the refresh button. This ensure that your system recognizes anything that you have just turned on. I do this with my SCSI connected scanner on a regular basis.
