Very relieved to see that the Toon realises that the London Stock exchange is no longer the UK Listing Authority and managed to get the Bassedas news to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) although he turns out to be half a million pounds more expensive than suggested: 4 mills for a 27 yearold midfielder is a bit of an investment.

TRANSFER AGREEMENT

The Board of Newcastle United announce that agreement has been reached with Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield of Buenos Aires, Argentina for the transfer of the registration of Christian Bassedas (age 27) to Newcastle United for 6 million US dollars (#4,009,000 at exchange rate at close of business on 30th May 2000). The player has signed a contract until the end of season 2004/2005.

Newcastle United PLC ("the Company") announces that Mr Michael Winskell has notified the Company of his intention to stand down as part-time executive director and Company Secretary on 18th July 2000, after a year with the Company.

Michael Winskell played an important and active role in the past year, during which time the Company forged a media partnership with NTL.

Mr Russell Cushing has been appointed as Company Secretary as from 18th July 2000.
