Helder

Anyone heard anything about his plans? I'd flog Howey tomorrow and buy him. He is the best attack-minded defender we've ever had.

Give over woman. Lets by Chris Sutton he's the best defence-minded attacker I've ever seen.

Why not be radical and go out and buy the best defensive defender there ever was. Lets leave our sparkling midfield and attack to be creative and lets produce a Seaman-Dixon-Winterburn-Adams-Keown boring-as-hell rock solid defence.

I think Helder is a superb defender and would love to keep him, assuming he could play more games in a season than Dunc

LOL!! But, to be fair, Helder made the Makems away game and the Heath home game. He is better than Albert at coming forward and he can defend as well.

ps. I can think of worse things to do with 4 mills than buying Chris Sutton.

I could think af a hell of a lot of better things to do with #4 mill.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the Bearded Tw@t will not let him go without recouping at least two thirds of his initial outlay.....so they will be asking at least #6.5m - #7m - and after the season he has had, only a foriegn side with recollections of the SaS partnership will touch him at that price.

Oh, aye, ITK. What can NUFC do for 4 mills? Buy an Argentinian midfielder that NONE of us had heard of.

Nah....a couple of ex-geordies for a million each and the rest to pay their wages.

Helder is a class act and would attract a #3-4M price tag iff fully fit and free from long term injury. He played really well (when he played, B'burm away excepted) and no doubt that didn't escape his current registration holders.

However, with his injury record, it's a bit much to expect him to be available for most of the season - which is exactly what is needed for the core of the defence. Mac hit it on the heed.

Helder - no thanks I think Sutton would be an awesome buy. I've always rated him and sometimes a player just needs a new start.

a bad season in a new team doesn't make a good player into a bad one! Sutton certainly was and still is a good player---so yes I would love to see him at SJP ----mind you I also want Helder to stay --and I would like Stevie Watson and Robbie Elliott back IF they could be bought cheaply.
