What is a good non-digital Point and Shoot camera to buy?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I just lost a Nikon Point and Shoot, Zoom, non-digital camera which I would like to replace, any suggestions under $200? I also have a digital New Olympus, D600L but don't use it as often because it eats Batteries.

Geez, If you already have an Oly digital.. go buy a couple of sets of NiMh batteries and a charger and have fun..You just haven't found the potential of the Digital yet..

Aslo GRP's message is right on track..

There is a lot of talk about this on photo.net (which probably shares the same physical computer as this message archive -- or used to). After reading a lot on photo.net I bought myself a Ricoh GR-1. It's * very* small and light, sturdy, and it has a very sharp lens and fantastic user interface. I like the size and interface better than my digital camera, and so I'm prone to grab it when I'm dashing out the door. The disadvantage of the GR-1 is the 28mm fixed focal length lens is a bit too wide-angle for my taste for everything. I don't really like it better than my Nikon digital camera, but it is nice to have a small, light, film based camera. The GR-1 is very nice for a film camera.
