I hear more and more about Silverfast these days but I am totally unfamiliar with it. I would like to supercede my Minolta scanning software with something better. Is this software dedicated to specific scanners ONLY? I looked on their website and no Minolta slide scanners were listed.

I tried VueScan, didn't like it, and deleted it. Do I have any other options?

Silverfast is written for each particular scanner model. There is really no generic version of silverfast unless you count HDR or DC which are not really scanner "drivers" per se. I would call Silverfast and ask for Paul in sales, he knows his scanners and its possible they sell it without advertising it. I bought a Polaroid 4000 and although they can't legally advertise it on their site, the Polaroid version is for sale. I'm wondering if Minolta is in the same boat. Good luck...
