Penny-pinching Peter strikes again

Monkey's Heed has offered 7mil for Nicky Butt to prove that he isn't afraid to spend money....so long as he knows the bid will be rejected. He's offering 10mil for Totti next week to keep the pre-season fever going on Wearside. The paper reckons that Butt might be unhappy to leave his home town club....any other reasons he might find playing for Man Utd more attractive that the mackems(ptuh!)?

Answers on a floppy disc please.

I heard he was trying to bring back Charlie Hurley to partner Bould. Just to show he has no ageist prejudices.

Nicky Butt? ho ho ho. After Amoruzo, Bjorklund is the latest to turn down Sunderland. It's probably easier to sell Coventry as a team to play for to decent players than Sunderland.

The RTG board's entire range of debate consists of - why can't Reid sign (insert name here) - we finished 7th so we must be an attractive proposition. - Shearer is crap and hasn't done anything for England (no he didn't create any of the recent goals), while Sewpa Kev would be England's saviour if only big bad Alan would admit he was crap and step down immediately. However, Phillip's failure against Malta was Shearer's fault. - Keegan is a permed mag b***** under Shearer's thumb.

It's so funny watching them work themselves up into states of foaming righteous indignation at the treatment of their beloved Phillips. Sad Sad Sad...

It must really rile the SMBs too, that their adopted hero is a cockney, and made a pigs ear out of his International debut.

As for the makums signing decent players - well, how much can you get for 34p and a can of Vaux beer? Ooops! No Vaux is there...ok, throw in a season ticket to the Stade de Merde, and get yer bus fare with the change
