Standing in line, looking around

Here's a portrait in response to the Altaif's request. Though it is something of a "random street shot", there's a connection of sorts there between the subject and photographer.

Hmmmm, unusual.

Hmmmmmm. mmmmm.

I think I have decided that I like it. I don't know -- it's different. Hmmmm. Yes...think I do like it.

Hmmmm............

I've been looking at this photograph since the day you posted it. Some photos just take a long time to digest. I've partly digested it, and I too like it. I think I've decided that the girl looking into the lens is what makes the photo work for me (that may be obvious). The expression looks like she had about 1 millisecond to check you out before you went click. You've captured the moment of indecision that asks, "What do I make of that guy with the camera who is behind my partner?" *click* ... and I would just love to see her expression in another second or two. I like the image tone color and the border, too.

I like this photograph. Nice, well balanced composition, draws the viewer in. It contains mystery. The interaction between the three people is interesting. I find myself wondering - what is the relationship between the three people? Why are the two women looking toward us, or are they looking toward the third person? The photograph tells a story, even though I find myself speculating exactly what that story is.

I like it a lot, although it's hard to pin down why. It just keeps you wondering. If you were shuffling through miniprints you might just pitch it because it just looks like a picture of some ladie's back.
