Just wondered if any of you were into that other great football, religion. Did you or anyone you know go to church yesterday ?

Apart from Births, deaths and marraiges, and Xmas when was the last time you went to church ?

I have never been outside of these, or not since school and even then it was a forced issue.

Nope....I'm not even slightly religious and feel hypocritical being in a church even for births, deaths and marriages...

I only pop in because I like the feel of cold stone and ancient wood. When I lived in Canterbury I'd often go and read a book in the cathedral cloisters on a Sunday morning until you could feel the stones trembling when the organ would sart up. Lovely noise when the King's School Choir would fill the upper reaches of the cathedral with soaring notes while that deep bass of the organ shook your guts. Glorious noise. Not a religious bone in my body but pretty spiritual - particularly in the Leazes End.

LAST TIME I WENT TO THE cHURCH WAS ABOUT 6 weeks ago . Starts at 10.00 am sunday morning .. finishes at 4.00 in the afternoon . Beer is bought with tokens and served in cans with ice in a placcy bag . Full of antipodeans and sout africans (women like to take their clothes off ) . Apparently for some its a religion , cannit see it meself like : -))

You're not wrong there Gav. At best, thinly veiled beneath a wet T shirt. (ahem). Or so they say ;o)))

Mac,

That has to be some kind of record - four postings and we're back on the booze and sex theme.

Can I just point out that this time it was NOT ME that changed the theme!! I know i'm usually to blame but it was definitely Sting this time :))

Does it count going along to meet the vicar in preparation for a wedding?

I used to go voluntarily when I was in me teens, but I was totally corrupted by 15 and never looked back.

Howway Gav, there was no hint of blame on anybody in my posting.

How does such a sensitive soul as you survive in this modern heartless, don't-give-a-f**k-for-your-fellow-man, cruel, no-hope world ? It's sad there are so few of us left, is it not ? :-))

Bill,

I do find it difficult at times getting kicked by all and sundry....i've actually cried myself to sleep over it many times! the mental scars left just won't heal :((

Where's my Prozac and bottle of whisky?

Over on your night stand next to a big bag of Peruvian marching powder and a book entitled 'How to lie through my teeth to gain sympathy' :-)

-- Anonymous, June 05, 2000

As you can see....I'm only on chapter one of that particular book ;))

Gav,
Crying yourself to sleep ? Wait till you start collapsing over your keyboard in tears when it all gets too much, and then being consoled by the support people with 'Next time, can't you fall on the floor to cry, cos the tears keep blowing your keyboard ?'.
