Poor Quality of Stills on VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

If anyone has had success at making photo cds or vcds with mpeg stills, please help. 1.) I can't seem to make a photo cd with WinonCd 3.7 without getting an error about 60% of the way through recording and I don't know what the problem is. Any syggestions? 2.) When I make vcd stills, the quality of the vcd stills are blurry and definately of less quality than the original. Anyway to control this to get a high quality vcd image. I am using files with the highest rez. possible.

Thanks in advance.

I once had the same problem like you; error occurs while building a Photo Album image file before burning. If you had two versions of WinOnCD installed together, let's say ver. 3.6 and 3.7, the problem would occur. If this is not the case, try to un-install and then re- install again with the latest patch (ver 3.7.048). You could download the patch from www.cequadrat.com (German version).

I try to increase the image quality by increasing the pixel dimension, not the pixel per inch resolution. Pixel dimension must be larger than VCD standard pixel (352 x 288 for PAL). Pixel dimension can be increased when scanning. Also remember that BMP are better than JPG as source files.

Hope it helps.
