Be afraid, be very afraid

Nowt to do with footy. Just read an hysterical, if rather frightening, commentary on the man who could well be the next US President. And for this reason I definitely won't be giving up US citizenship before voting against this loony in November. (not that the other choice is much better, merely less frightening) ;-)

It's a bit long to post here, so click heeeere

Shouldn't worry too much Ciara, you've had loonies in charge for at least most of the last 20 years and we've all survived - largely because 'the system' keeps them under a measure of control.

Love it Ciara....but I think Clarky is right.....from the peanut man through Bonzo to date they have all been 'slightly' on the strange side, but we survived........and I thought the politicians this ssid eof the Atlantic were a funny bunch. (;0)

Hee. And the press is always wondering why people are so apathetic about voting here. Well, look at the choices. Bozo or Ronald McDonald? ;-)

Nowt wrong with Loonys.

The trick is to keep them happy by keeping them topped up with beer.

And cold Ambrosia rice pudding straight from the tin.

Time to watch 'Bob Roberts' again methinks, covered it all superbly I reckon.

You don't think "Wag the Dog" was a more accomplished effort?

Anyone watch Ruby Wax last night? (:o)

"Wag the Dog"? Enlighten me Bobby, not heard of it, I take it I've been missing out? Hope so, bored stupid at the mo (I'll take that back in 10 weeks!).

"Wag the Dog" starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro. The storyline is the US President is involved in a sex scandal shortly before election day. Hoffman is a film producer and De Niro is a well connected 'fixer' who are employed to produce a smokescreen and get the Pres re-elected. Basically, a whole scenario of a war, heroes returning home, feelgood factor about the Stars & Stripes etc which is totally fictional and media created.

Sounds familiar? Lots of controversy as it was released during the Lewinsky affair...oh, and some Iraqi bombing around the same time too. More cynical than 'Bob Roberts' and twice as scary.

Cheers Bobby, I'll keep an eye out for it [Caveat: unless there is a new copy of 'Debbie does Dallas' or something unmissable like that which accidentally finds its way into the wrong case "Sorry Pet, it said 'Bambi' on the box etc" ]

Soft lad,

But if you're looking for real quality socio-political comment, with a twist and post-modernist feel (David Lynch meets Tarantino) try "Busty Brenda's Bollock Bonanza". Terrifying, surreal yet filed between Anal Intruder IV and Christie's Camera Angles Pt3 for convenience.
