Oh, and it's official. I've heard from Yvonne and am designing the courses. [For the Forest Park meet] Time for input is now.

I have a couple of suggestions.

The long course could be two (or more) loops with a spectator control near the start/finish area.

I think the way to make a park course interesting is to have a variety of leg lengths.

I think it is best to avoid having to run through the wooded areas -- it's fine (even good) to have some controls on trails in the woods, but I don't think it is much fun to force the runners to go through the woods.

No park meet is complete without a climbing control. You should include at least one control on the top of a tower or jungle gym equipment or something like that.

I spoke with Yvonne last night.

The staging area will be about in the same place as last year. The task of organizing the meet apparently fell to her by default and she is only now arranging the meet, so many preferred areas are not available.

I suggested overprinting the remaining maps with the areas that are no longer correct. Is there an easy way to do this?

I'll check into whether I can place the climbing control in the zoo.

Zoo is out. sigh.
