Bosnich

Now that he seems surplus to requirements at Man U, would we want him?

Harper has done well, but YBR seems to be on the look out for a big keeper. Given may be off (to Celtic?). Bosnich may be ideal - he is a prat but he's an excellent keeper

The complaint from Man United fans is that his kicking is disgraceful. Watching the way he positioned himself for Big Al's TWO goals I would also say that the fat pillock is slow and decidedly dodgy.

Harper beats him in all areas and costs about a quarter of what the flying pig would expect.

Personally I'd be happy to see Given go for the right kind of money. Then sign a decent young keeper and another keeper who'd be happy to sit on his backside whilst Harper play week in week out. Competition for places is all well and good but it doesn't do the keepers any confidence when they are in one week and out the next.
Keep Harper and Karelse (which is too late I know) and sign some great young one for the future

Bosnich? Decent keeper, but big salary, big ego & big transfer fee - not for me, I'm afraid.
I feel Harper deserves an extended run in the team to prove he's the man. However, I feel Given has had enough chances, and just hasn't shown himself either dominant or consistent enough for me. Therefore, if someone offered good money for him I'd let him move on.

Not that I want him or anything Clarky...just wanna point out that he's pushing to be released without a transfer fee....basically saying he's gonna sit there and take the salary unless they let him go on a Bosman as he arrived....

He's kind of got a point....

No one from Newton Heath. At any time. Under any circumstances. Bad habits, bad eggs, bad breath, bad vibes, bad pickles, and bad luck.

Sorry....bad language alert coming up...........

leave the f***ing Nazi tw@t to rot in hell at Newton Heath........

Move in for Richard Wright........despite the fact that Ipswich came up, I reckon they would sell and I reckon he would come, YKD would oil him in and YBR would be the best thing that could happen to him, and I reckon he is going to be a good un.

Give Harper a decent run with Wright as his 'pressure pad' and let Given go to Celtic.

They were saying on Sky this afternoon that Wright's contract runs out in 12 months time. So far he's refused to sign an extension, indicating that he would move if they didn't get promoted. They now hope to tie him down on a long-term contract in the near future.
He made a couple of howlers in the Malta game today, but he's young and seems certain to be England's No.1 keeper in a couple of years.
You could well be right Ken - if YKD gave him the hard sell on The Toon, and if we went in really aggressively for him he might decide he'd be better off at a bigger, more ambitious Club. He could be partly financed by selling Given - or perhaps Ipswich would even consider taking him in part ex.

But I woulds hate to part with Shay and then find out that RW play's hard to get for twelve months......what are we left with as cover then......Perez and Karelse.....is there anyone else or is that it?

Did I here that there was a young kid 'lurking' in the background somewhere?

I thought that only 'real' howler he had today was the first penalty.....he lost it big time with that one.....but I still maintain that the second, seen from behind, was as much down to the gamesmanship of the forward......Wright slid out and he saw the opportunity for a penalty and just waited for him to clip his ankle....

IF he had really had shown intent, then he should have been sent off.

You could be correct Ken - certainly Wright reaction was instant and vigorous as though he certainly felt he'd been cheated. The only view I had was similar to the Ref's, and it looked a dead cert penalty.
While I thought the first incident was also a penalty, there wasn't actually a hell of a lot of contact, but the forward made sure he got the award by throwing himself to the ground. Tosser!
I agree with your cocnern about selling Given before we've got another top keeper in the bag - however, a part ex for Wright would solve that problem.

He admitted himself that he shouldn't have been there for either one - I personally reckon that the 1st was a dive after light contact and the 2nd was a penalty coz the forward went over him - remember Tino v Barcelona.

I reckon he is gonna be class and certainly worth a punt......lets face it....most keepers drop clangers sometimes.....even the best.

It's a shame refs aren't allowed to exercise common sense in those situations. I will smile fondly at the way that ghastly little troll Karel Poborsky launched himself over Pav in Heath's 5-0 thrashing and the ref was having none of it. These days he would have been disciplined for not giving it but the whole world knows he had only one thought in what passes for his mind, and that was to pretend to be King Rollo.

He was a great keeper for Villa and balmes his poor year at ManU on the fact that there are a better defenders at Villa and you don't need to kick so well at Villa as they play 3 at the back...??!!

ITK, I am shocked and stunned!! Luckily not speechless however.

"Every Keeper even good ones drops a clanger now and then........."

I will have you know in my 30 years of keeping, including this year, I have never dropped a clanger.

My back four would love me to get close enough to a clanger to drop one, but as of yet I have not dropped one!!!

Disgusted of Perth
