Hi all. I just read the morning newspaper and it stated more interest rate hikes to follow, although it appears economy is slowing.

My question is: Have any of 'us' felt even a lil pinch w/the recent hike.

Thanks for the imput.

Please tell me you are not attending university, nor high school. I beg of you, make mention of your upcoming field trip to the Turtleback Petting Zoo!(not you consumer)

Bingo: LOL...

I do believe the hike S have been happening, most recent took our one variable interest credit card up to 9/12% started out as 8%. OUCH.

Am going to pay it off this month, digging into savings to do so.

I for one have felt a lil pinch and already have began a few cut- backs although hubby makes good money and I work part-time. When I say a lil pinch I am saying groceries appear to be higher, and alot is beginning to happen in my field (Insurance) "some" layoffs coming and more work being passed onto those who arent getting laid off.

last time I saw this happen was in around 1992, and it was not pretty.

This is a serious question and I just desired some imput, tis all.

Thanks again,

sumer

Bingo,

Are you English or Australian?

As a cabinet maker I can tell you that the price of lumber is going up constantly, so much so that we had to add "price good for 20 days" on all our proposals.

Just my two-cents!

Point of information re economy

I have a small food service distribution business. Monday the pricing on 15 different lines of products will go up on average 8%. Paper, plastic, foil, soaps & much more. Later today I will be filling my small warehouse so I can give my customers one more order at old pricing.

Higher oil costs (which relate to both raw material costs and transportation costs) is stated as the principle reason.

somebody,s gotta pay'for all dem new-computer,s. and what about all those generator,s that got returned????

-- al-d. (dogs@zianet.com), June 02, 2000.

Al,

Nobody returned generators! My plan was to wait for after rollover and pick up a return cheap, but it never happened. The prices went UP after rollover. I can't understand it, but am too cheap to buy one, unless I can find one at auction somewhere.
