Sorry for the self-promotion, but I just finished up with my website tonight. The address is http://www.rockzo.com, and uh, well, if you check it out, it'd be real neat. Thanks.

I saw your picture and for some reason, I thought "I bet this guy is an REM fan". I scrolled down... and you are =) I agree with most of your opinions on "Out of Time", except I think the first track is somewhat amusing (although in a retarded way).. and Bill Berry sings on "Near Wild Heaven"?! I thought it was Mike Mills, who sings "Texarkana".

By the way, I think "Automatic for the People" was the last album where Stipe had hair.

Anyway, I thought your weblog was interesting. It seems as though every time I start a blog, I stop finding interesting links. :\ So all I have is a half-assed journal at www.dork.com/kmacleod/

Uh. You might be right that it's not Bill Berry, I dunno. Whichever guy has that whiney high-pitched voice. Lemme check the liners... Ok, Bill and Mike are both credited with vocals on that track, so I dunno. You could very well be right, though, because only Mike is credited with vocals on Texarkana. I've been an REM fan for like, ever, but I can't remember for the life of me which guy is which. There's Michael, the nerdy guy, the guy with the unibrow, and uh... the other guy. With the funny suits. Murmur is my favorite R.E.M. album, to set the record straight.

What does an REM fan look like, anyway?

The uni-brow guy is Bill, the nerdy guy is Mike, and the non-smiling guy is Peter. Sorry for acting like an REM snob :) I didn't always know this, I used to refer to them as "all the other guys". I'm not the biggest fan in the world (I've only been a fan for 6 months, I don't have all their albums yet, and I've never seen them live)..

I just know an REM fan when I see one, women's intuition I guess. =) It's like the way I can pick out left-handers, although I'm only right 1/3 of the time. Stipe is left-handed, by the way. No, I'm not the biggest fan in the world but I know all this stupid trivia. :P
