Dyer no go to Euro2000

Good or bad?
Off the fence, he gets a rest over the summer and we might get to see him in Washington DC, so good. He'll get better and have a flyer next season.

Depends how he reacts personally to what must be a terrible disappointment. I think he'll get a cuddle from BR and be fine. His time will come.
To be honest, if KK intends to play PN wide left, he'd be better off with YKD in that position - I thought PN was desperate tonight; useless.

Spoke very briefly to him after the game and he said he was really disappointed that he wasnt going to Belgium but was philosophical about it, realises that he is young and has time in front of him, and now has to concentrate on continuing to play well for the Toon and getting into the squad for the World Cup qualifiers.

Well at least he gets some time off to re-charge himself before next season.

Desparately disappointed we wont see YKD at Euro 2000- in hindsight its definetly the best thing for him. A good rest+out next season to do well for us+prove to KK he is worthy of a 1st team place.

imagine Dyer stormed euro 2000 - you could just see him off to Inter couldn't you?

Anyone notice how much better his defending was last night? Poor little lamb. Still, I think it'll be a good thing in the long run.

Dougal, he was only on for a little while so it's difficult to judge anything...I however didn't think his defending looked very good at all....he should be played in a forward roving role and NOT as a wing back....

Horses for courses King Kev.....horses for courses.....

He looked better in ten mins on the pitch for England than he ever has for us in defence although I agree, that isn't his role. Sadly, his limits are the reason he wasn't picked and Barry and Gerrard were.

Deffo a good thing - he'll be chomping at the bit to make an impression with the new season in August. Watch out for YKD to be spectacularly good in 2000/01!

Saddended to see Souper (sic) Keeeeveeeeen Phiiiiileeeeeps get in the team - he'll be shown up for s**te if he gets played...cockney twat
