Everythings pointing towards Cole- id be astounded if he was dropped at the expense of Fowler. Would this not be a disgrace considering Fowlers season no matter how talented he is?

I'll say this quietly, in the vain hope LR doesn't hear. Cole should be picked ahead of a half fit Fowler and an untried Phillips. The only players who have consistently scored against World class defending are Shearer, Cole in the Champions League and Owen to a lesserr extent in the World Cup.

Although the Premiership contains World Class defenders I don't think they defend like World Class defenders when playing in the Premiership.

I will go with Al, Owen, Cole with a toss up between Heskey & KP. Though INHO Heskey is the stronger of the two, KP (spit spit) is the more skillfull

If KK drops Cole, it'll be an appalling gaff, namely because everyone thinks he doesn't choose Cole because he bears some grudge. Any mistake Al makes will be magnified through the lens of the non-selection of Cole.

Dougal, That's a pretty poor reason to pick Cole!!

Is Cole fit? I'd heard he'd got a toe injury which could keep him out.

Cole is out and so is redknap and Parlour . Hell drop James , Gerrard and Ferdinand as well i think / hope .

If Cole isn't included it'll be due to his injury, not anything else. Fowler's still a lucky man to get the nod though

Cole has had an all-clear from his specialist. I wasn't saying choose him just to avoid criticism: I was saying if you leave him out after the season that Fowler has had and given KP's lack of experience at this level, no one will believe it's anything other than pettiness.

KK Has not got a problem up front, who to leave out is a luxury IMHO that KK problem is the Bermuda triangle of Semen and the Nevilles, Hoy the munchkin oot, he is not as good as he thinks he is, next season will be the benchmark.

Cole's blown his chances when he cried about putting club before country (re his dose of Lineker-Toe-itis). Kev doesn't like players turning their backs on International opportunity, and Andrew has been nothing but mouth about lack of chances to get into the England set up. Quite how he expects to get a Euro2000 place on the strength of this I'll never know.

IMO Cole is the logical replacement for Big Al. He should understudy Al in Euro 2000 in preparation for replacing him - assuming he's fit of course.
