I've spoken to Dr Bill, he's being run ragged at work and can't wait to grab a well-earned break. He says that by the time he religiously catches up with all the postings he's too tired to post himself. I think we've all been there at one time or another.

Thanks, Softie. It's just that I'm not in the office at the moment and can't catch up with him by e mail at all so I just wondered whether he was on hos, or working. Thanks for the info.

Wotcheor Lynda - sorry I had to step outside the tent there, and was some time - thanks for asking.

Softie has got it right as usual. I've been a 'lurker' or a 'ditherer', though maybe can't lay claim to 'newbie' (chance would be a fine thing), but by the time I've caught up it's usually time to "get off that bliddy machine and come downstairs" - and, sadly, reading at work is usually out of the question, still less posting. Still it's really good to keep in touch with everybody even if vicariously.

I sent you an email yesterday but forgot about the hotmail address - got an automatic response telling me you were away - I'll resend if I can find it.
