Sony MVCF 99 v Sony DSC F505 which one to get

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have been looking at the Sony DSC F505 (are there two different models?) and found a MVCF 99 that I like very much. I have the I-R review of the 505, but cannot find anything (even on the Sony website) about the F99. I like the F99 because of the eye viewfinder as well as the floppy disk choice, BUT, I love that Zeis lens on the 505. I have a high quality Mini DV Videocam, so the MPEG is on no interest to me. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Larz,

There is no such thing as a Sony 99. Perhaps you mean the FD91? I recommend that you get the new FD95 which has a great many improvements over the FD91.

Sorry folks, I misread the label. It was an F95
