Help! Sony S70 or Olympus C-2020Z?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Both cameras cost the same price. One is 3Mp (Sony) the other 2Mp (Oly). Sony has many accessories (USB, battery...) but is slower... Which one should I choose??? Thanks!

ced;,br> Examine your need. Do you need the speed? Do you need the resolution? Chances are you want both (ain't life interesting) - but one need is greater than the other. I think you probably already know that - but you want to hear if anyone condemns one or the other. That probably won't happen because they are both really fine cameras - though I would give the edge to the S70 because the images are superb (based on the review here on IR).
The review of the Olympus shows it's no slouch either.
The trick is to get the one you choose - and put all thoughts of "...did I buy the right one?" away. There will always be occasions where one camera would have a slight advantage of the other one. Life is too short.

If I am not mistaken, the 2020 is USD$100-$150 less than the S70. Perhaps comparing the C-3000Z to the S70 (both 3Mp) would be better.
