Alternating rapidly between sunny and cloudy with blustery winds...

Not much traffic about....

Cool(ish) but sunny down here in London....keeps clouding over as if to rain buyt not bad.....so far!

Saw (soon to be married) Bobby and his neighbours relaying their private driveway this morning when I passed....Bobby doing some hard graft....now that was a sight to behold.

Mind you he did stop when I parked the car and was off like a bat out of hell when someone said there was a cup of tea ready!

Much the same here - changeable. Cold in the wind, and warm in the shade, when the sun`s out. Then sudden gusts of wind and heavy rain! (:o|

stinkin' hot in Turin with the office air-conditioning stuggling to cope. As usual on a working day .............

But Thursday is Ascension Day and a day's holiday. And Friday too - just to provide a bridge to the weekend. Strange n' est pas?

ooo! Just like a matchday thread! :-) Cool(60F), mostly cloudy, windy in Boston. Just sitting here pondering the (il)logic of why BBC won't allow today's game to go out on the web via Radio 5, yet the Ipswich website is carrying their local BBC radio Suffolk coverage...ON THE WEB.

???

I know what you mean Ciara, but the vagaries of these bliddy contracts with different authorities is an absolute minefield.

We can't stream certain events because other broadcasters have a contract that allow them first broadcast in certain parts fo the world, and then when we do have a contract that allows broadcast...some tosser tlike KMacK (TalkSport) jumps up and down and claims that we are abusing our position cos his lot can't carry it.

You really couldn't write it....we would love to stream everything but it doesn't work like that.

That's so dumb. Talksport webcast...they just cut off a big potential audience by only offering content via Media Player, also poor quality when you can manage to get connected. Not that REal Player is much better, but it usually seems more stable.

I'm not surprised that it's stupid contractual nonsense with BBC. Also the FA got all het up about clubs webcasting FAC games in the middle of the season and decided to ban it. Same with the 98 World Cup. It's all about money, and in the meantime screw the audience. Though I really doubt any one game draws more than a few thousand hits from around the world(other than maybe a final). At this point, it's hardly enough to produce any noticeable revenue anyway. grrrrrrrr.

what time was / is the Ipswich kick-off. Grateful if someone wiould post the result on this thread as soon as possible, please.

Number 1 son is here for a few days and he lives in Ipswich - he's desperate to know the outcome.

Thanks

Half time score - Ipswich 1 - Barnsley 1.

Would you like any further goals posted, or just the fulltime score? (:o)

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

WOW! That was quick.

The final score will do, thanks.

Not fulltime - but I thought you`d like to know that Ipswich are 3 - 1 up now - about 60 mins into the game now! (:o)

Ipswich taking good control of the game.......watch out for a Barnsley revival in the last ten minutes.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Galaxy, who scored for Ipswich? I'm getting all kinds of net congestion, so can barely figure out what's going on.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Sounds like a good game. Just switched over to Barnsley's webcast as there's less net congestion. Though whoever is doing their website has the brodcast icon linked to Bradford City! ooops. ;-)

Another dubious Barnsley penalty make is 2-3 to

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Martin Rueser makes it 4-2 to Ipswich.......great goal, picksup the ball just inside the Barnsley half, holds off the one defender on his shoulder and hammers it high into the back of the net from the edge of the area.

What's the capacity of Portman Road? just wondering how many tickets we'll get for there......

Glad they won after all this time of trying.....Nice to see YKD there supporting them as well....I wonder if he's regretting leaving...

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Yeah, great news: I'm sure both Bobby and "Ken" are delighted. They've got some great players so they may be safe next season.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Wohoo get in there Ipswich!! I thought they had blown it, but came through in the end. Now my top two teams are in the prem. I can't wait to see them play the Toon. I see an away trip to Ipswich coming on.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

I'm well pleased for Ipswich and Man City, but I'm not convinced with Charlton....certain fixed points are nice to have, but you have to balance it against watchable football, and I really don't think they are good enough.

I wait to be proved wrong, but I don't think so.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Yeah I think Charlton will ping pong too. But I really do hope that Ipswich are strong enough to cope. But only time will tell.

Well - it's been a cracking day here in Cheshire. Not a drop of rain and loads of sunshine. Now I know why it's called a Bank holiday. Just spent the day on the canal bank, cutting the........

OOOH! Somebody's just set off some fireworks. Either that or they've just bombed Runcorn. Either way, it's a nice end to the day.

PS. Just saw that ref on the Beeb News. Packs a canny punch like! And he didn't even get a card for it. He'd have been off at the beginning of the season.

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

He might not have got a card for it then, but I bet there's a few thank you cards from ref's the world over in his post bag later in the week.........

The ref bites back.....can you imagine that happening over here.....they are so bliddy short sighted here, I can just see Graham Poll decking Jeff Winter can't you

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

I can just see Graham Poll decking Jeff Winter can't you

I'd pay money to see that! :-)
