Evocative tunes

I went to see "Elvis the musical" on Saturday night. Nicely enjoyable without being startingly good. Lots of well known songs to sing and dance to. One or two to make me feel emotional about.

BUT there was one song that just left me cold, I just felt that it was hopelessly done, and not worthy of inclusion in the evening.

Any ideas which one could do this ?

Icehouse Rock!!!!!!....the 'cold' version of Jailhouse Rock

I'll guess at 'In The Ghetto' - brilliant by Elvis, never heard a good rendition of it since.

Neither

The rendition of In the Ghetto was one of the highlights, voice really was spot on

Who sang it Mac.....I've personally never heard a good version of In The Ghetto by anyone else.....there always seems to be something missing, although I've never been able to pin point exactly what that something is.....one of those personal things I suppose.

The whole thing was an Elvis tribute. They had three singers playing the three different stages of his life. All three really were spot on with the voice. (A friend who is besotted with all things Elvis saw the show in Glasgow and Edinburgh and thought it superb .... she's so besotted she's been to Gracelands twice). The young Elvis and the fat Elvis also physically looked the part.
