PDG Software, Inc. Proactively Addresses Potential Security Concern

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2000--Atlanta-based PDG Software, Inc., a leader in Internet commerce, has worked in conjunction with Cerberus Information Security, Ltd., of London, England to determine and correct a minor glitch in a previously released version of PDG Shopping Cart 1.5.

The issue existed with two executable files where a user would have to intentionally insert extraneous characters into the URL while the executable is processing. Insertion of this ``junk data'' could potentially affect the performance of the other executable files.

An additional concern was the potential effect on server performance. If extraneous data is submitted via the URLs to the server, then it could overwrite a critical component of the server's memory - resulting in the execution of the incorrect programs.
