Noticed this on the twaddle:Sunderland are eyeing a #3m swoop for Valencia centre back Joachim Bjorklund, who was on the bench during Wednesday's Champions League final. However, Monkey Heed is understood to have turned his attentions towards Bjorklund - and he is hoping his Swedish international colleague - and former Valencia team mate - Stefan Schwarz will help persuade him to make the move to Wearside. Ironically, north east rivals Newcastle could help Sunderland to land their man by selling former Real Mallorca defender Elena Marcelino to the beaten European Cup finalists. Valencia are keen to sign Marcelino - who has barely had a look in on Tyneside since former boss shelled out #5.7m to bring him to St James' Park - for #4m and will sell on Bjorklund once the signature of Marcelino has been sealed.
