Nikon Coolpix 800 resolution.

When I download a 40 or 50K jpg from the net (taken with a Coolpix 800)and view it using Nikon View software, it's as sharp as a tack. Even if I enlarge it 150 - 200%. Now I take a similar picture with my camera at the "fine" setting which yields a 700 to 800K file @ 1200 x 1600. Using the same viewing program, it's not sharp. I can fix it with Corel Photopaint and it prints fine on my Epson 750, but why should I have to. What am I doing wrong? Is there something wrong with the camera? If so, I'd like to get it repaired while it's under warrenty. I'd like to understand what & why. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks. My name is Harlow and I can be reached at blodgett_harlow@marconidata.com

From your description it sounds like your problem is not with your Coolpix, instead it may be that your monitor needs to be set for a higher resolution (in Windows 95/98 got to: Start-Settings-Control Panel-Display-Settings)
