In the tale "The Cask of Amontillado", Montresor sealed the unfortunate Fortunato alive in a niche within the catacombs of the Montresor estate. No animals were in volved. In the story "The Black Cat", the narrator sealed his dead wife within the walls of the cellar (I think) and inadvertantly enclosed a cat with her. Actually, the old man in the tale, "The Tell-Tale Heart" was already dead when his body was hidden under the floor.

"The Fall of the House of Usher" or "The Premature Burial" (even though he only thinks he's been buried alive).
