Thank You, Manny

Manny, your "love note" to the forum was responsible for getting me out of a pro bono project at work, and I thank you!

For those who want a few more details, there are some things at work that we occasionally do for the community. I normally don't mind some community service, but not in the middle of May, when I'm already working some OT to complete my regular seasonal maintenance projects.

The other day, I was in a line in the cafeteria, when "Ms. Service" came along with her clip board looking for volunteers. My cube buddy, X, piped up and said, "Oh, KB volunteers, and you should pick him because NOBODY LOVES HIM."

At which point, I scowled my best scowl and said, "No, MANNY LOVES ME!"

X said, "Who?" At which point, both X and "Ms. Service" gave each other odd looks and then drifted away to discuss this sad state of affairs, and I was able to grab a Pepsi and sandwich, thus escaping before either could try again.

And, yes, I'm brown-bagging it for the rest of the week...I won't leave my cubby...

Thanks, again, Manny!

Jesus loves you more than I do.

Yes, but these folks know who Jesus is ... they had never heard of "Manny," though, and I was able to escape because of their confusion. Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! (It takes too darn little to please me these days)

Perhaps we should make bumper stickers and tee shirts with that on them. LOL

Kb8:

*I* thought of you today. I'm doing the single, living alone thing for a few days and rather than make a nutritious lunch I found myself with a spoon in my hand digging liversausage out of the tube. I thought, "Gee...even Kb8 puts it on bread before he eats it." I then took 2 slices of bread and knived the liver sausage onto it. It was quite the culinary experience. [grin]

I'm not sure how you knew that, but it's true. I don't drink beverages out of large containers, either ... Geez! Mom must've housebroken me when I wasn't looking. I don't do windows, though. 8-)
