I own a 1998 Cr80 and I'm the 2nd owner. I recently rode my friends 2000 Cr80 Expert. I rode it exactly the same as I ride mine and found that his bike had a noticeable amount more of power than mine. It also had a much higher, crisper sound. I just rebuilt the top end, and new reeds. Other than that my bike is stock(so is my friends). I am the second owner of this bike, and it has never had as much power or the same sound as my friends. What do I do?

Buy a YAMAHA ! LOL just kidding, does the Cr80 Have a Power Valve ? if so Clean it ! would not hurt to check the timing either.

is your freind faster than you and if so his bike is faster because he might of broke in his topend better than you might have.

it might just be his is a 2000 and yours is a 1998 my 2000 rm125 has alot more power than my old 1998 rm125 (both stock)alot could change in 2 years

if you are thinking about sending your motor out to get done i would send it to dynoport they did my motor in my 99 cr80 and my new rm 125 they have been the fastest bikes i ever rode also a dyno port pipe makes a big change i also run vforce reeds , the best change i ever made lol good luck

first of all any one with a suzuki(shit) kawi(shit) and a yamahahahahaha shouldent be talking. this is a honda problem. now as every one knows honda hasent tutched the 80 in somthing like 10 years so just slap an FMF on it mabey even change the sprokets on the bike and ride faster and you will beat your friend. just rember when your on a honda it's not the bike it's the rider.

You wrote your own answer, your friends CR80 Expert isnt called expert for nothing. the expert bike is built to have more power than the regular CR80 and is a bit snappier cause there made for racing. There is no problem with your bike.

Ok, first of all cr80's and cr80 experts are the same damn thing... The expert just has taller tires on it. If your bike sounds like its not barkin like your friends, id check the timing on it. If you try all that and it dosnt work, throw some mods on there. Like that guy said up top THIS IS A HONDA PROBLEM, LET THE HONDA PEOPLE FIX IT, all you suzuki, kawasaki and yamaha riders go find something else to do.
