Did Laura and I go to the same University at the same time?

Wowzer! I think that she and I may have been at Arizona State University West at the same time: 1971-1975 Too cool! 'Cept I wasn't on the Dean's List like she was.

Yup, we were there together for two of those years. What was your major?

Hey! Do you want to meet me at the SU for a cup of coffee on Wednesday? (I'm leaving town Thursday.)

-- (Ladylogic@...), May 22, 2000.

Ummm, you are Flash, right?

Ha! Ha! I'm sorry to spam your thread, EM. But I just realized that I've made a couple of GREAT friends in real life from this board and I don't think I should press my luck. If you're ever out there, say "hi" to the guys in the I.T. department for me!

Well hello there, Laura! Sorry, I left you hanging there for a bit, but I went out to eat with my neighbor this evening. I graduated in 75 with a BS in Psychology. Never used it though. I went into the family business, fine gems and jewelry. What was your major? By the way, I am a new lurker here and found your name and a reference to the University when reading through the archives trying to get a feel for this place.

Meeting at the SU sounds like fun. I haven't been there in ages. Let me see what Wednesday holds for me and I'll let you know if I can make it. But I have to warn you, I don't have nearly as much hair as I did in the 70's!

Oh, wait! EM, I'm sorry! I misread that. I wasn't there in the 70's. I graduated more recently than that.

EM, I'm sure you're a very nice person, but you have to understand that I'm a little paranoid of meeting anyone right now. I'm getting flamed royal for hammering on mothers with children here, and I'm not willing to push my luck any more than I already have. (At least not in real life.) I'm sure you understand??? Thanks. Have a nice night, fellow alum!

That's okay, I understand and can't blame you a bit. Further reading has indeed shown that you have some nasty "friends" in here. I must be mistaken about who I thought you were. I remember a pretty blonde haired woman named Laura that was so smart and graduated at the top of the class. I was a prof's assistant in the student affairs office - the one that handled recommendations and graduate course referrals for top students, etc. But, my mind has gone feeble on me and obviously I have mistaken you for someone else. Have a good trip on Thursday, and all the best to you!

Don't worry about it, inquiring LL makes the same mistake, too.

LL,

That wasn't me. I graduated from ASU - Tempe in 72 with BS in business. I've never been to ASU West, although I'd like to check it out one of these days.

I'm currently sweltering in high humidity in Silicon Valley this week, and am not online very much.

Any scoop you care to share on ASU West would be appreciated.

Enquiring,

There wasn't any ASU West back in the early 70's. You mean Tempe, right? Did they still have mandatory ROTC back when you were there?

It is all probably a scheme from Laura in giving her a reason NOT to post her pictures.

Well, my thoughts anyway.
