Resolution settings for Olympus D360L

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I just purchased my first digital camera, Olympus D360L, so this may sound like a stupid question. I am having a problem understanding the resolution settings. Does resolution mean image size only? Are pictures taken at a lower resolution just as clear as ones at a higher resolution, only smaller? On my camera there is a setting for standard quality and standard quality high. What does the high setting do? If anyone is familiar with this camera I would really appreciate an explanation of each resolution setting. The instruction book is not helping me alot. Thanks
