I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue

This is just to let you know that "the antidote to panel games" returns on Radio 4 tonight at 1830.

It is one of the most brilliantly funny radio programmes of all time and comes in the "essential listening" category. I'm not sure but I think it MAY be available on a webcast for those of you posted overseas on Toon Army duties. The link to radio 4 is :-

If you do miss it today, it will be repeated on Sunday at midday I believe.

Now, for the already initiated - a quick round of Mornington Crescent.

I'll start :-

Totteridge # Whetstone

Damn - I missed it. I was on the tube at the time. Goodge Street if I'm not mistaken.

Euston Square

It really was very funny last night. Humphrey Littleton: 'For this round we can draw on the musical strength of the four panellists. Not to mention Colin Selby and his piano...(pause)...Damn! That last bit wasn't supposed to be read out. It was a note to myself.'

I'm not an avid listener of the show but do hear it from time to time. Will someone please explain what the hell Mornington Crescent is all about?

You have to work it out. Depends what rules they're playing under as well.

It's quite simple really. Remember, Main Line Stations are wild and all elevators are assumed to be operational. So far on this thread we've had :-

Totteridge and Whetstone (attempting to secure the long diagonal) Shadwell (a sound blocking move) Goodge St. (in order to avoid passing water)

so the game continues with :- Trafalgar Square (for obvious reasons)

I'll counter that with neat side-step to Heathrow Terminal 4...

I think there are only two legal moves from Heathrow Terminal 4 (and I'm going to block) so

Collier's Wood

Not sure Collier's Wood is legal but I'm not confident enough to challenge... so..

Putney Bridge

Stop it at once! It's not so much esoteric as MI5. No, it's positively masonic! Have I been the victim of hoodwinkers for the past however many years? Somebody please explain! Is it all a joke or is there some purpose to it all?

Confused of Gateshead.

SMB - had yer gob man. We can't have dissent like that. Just follow the moves and learn as you go along. There's nowt like hands-on training. Now, if we could only get Dr Bill involved we could turn this into a MasterClass.

PS. Gateshead isn't on the Lahndaan Underground. There might be a station on the Metro but that doesn't count.

Assuming that Rule 12 is not in operation and that therefore Mainline Stations are wild then:

St Pancras

Aha... so your playing "zonal"....

This may leave an opening to the sharp eyed among you but:

It would be obvious to move to Tottenham Court Road, but I think its also viable to go to

Greenwich North

Moronic, sub-adolescent puerile humour passing off as pseudo- intellectual claptrap.
