Where can I see samples of pixtures made with inexpensive DCs

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am not an expert and never will be one but since I have only limited sources and just want to make a couple of fotos for my webpage I would like to ask if one of the very inexpensive range of DC's is efficient enough to produce enough sharpness or depth (or whatever the experts call it) for pictures to use on my webpage? It would be fine for me if I could store only about 10 pictures in a good enough resolution. Does it have to be a DC with more than 1.3 megapixel? Thanks for any response.

It hardly seems worth getting even a cheap digital camera for 10 pix. If you've got a 35mm or APS film camera already, why not take the shots you want with that, and have them put onto Photo CD by a Kodak lab. Or scan the prints in with a (friends?)flatbed.

For web use you don't need more that a 1.3MP. I'm not sure what you consider cheap but you can get a good 1.3MP for about $300. Here's a website where you can see samples I've taken with a Canon A50. Great camera for the price and includes a zoom lens that goes to a wide angle 35mm equivalent of 28mm. http://members2.clubphoto.com/dennis134383/Canon_A50_pictures_- _South_County_RI_First_Page/
