Or am the only sad person to be in on a Saturday night? Of course I have an excuse, I've been ill and the smoke in the pubs would make me feel worse. So what's you excuse?

Fell alseep during the cup final it was that thrilling.

Thee and me Jay.
Galaxy was lurking earlier but has either gone to the boozer, and has been bored to sleep by my posts along with everyone else.
How's the Ronsealitis? Feeling any better?
Was that the worst Cup final ever, or what?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Listening to Santana's classic - Europa (Earth's cry, Heavens smile) - very loudly! One of the best ever rock guitar tracks.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I am fine apart from a splitting headache. It might have something to do with the wine mind ;o)

Many congrats grandpa...10lb blood hell!!!! ;o))))

I must admit that despite having witnessed the birth of all my three kids, as a relapsed Engineer I've never comprehended the mechanics of childbirth. I've always felt it was pure magic
I whinced when I initially heard Jamie's weight, but having seen the size of him today I'm more convinced than ever that some wise being, somewhere, just said abracadabra.
Deffo a CB though.

"Oye Como Va" will be coming up soon - another Santana classic. It's amazing how much sound can come through these tiny little speakers - struth, there I go again. Must be magic, I reckon.

Oh well, I must have bored Jay into rigor mortus also.

No alternative, off to bed. Goodnight.

Nope - I didn`t go down the boozer - expensive weekend away last weekend, so a quiet `at home` one is the order of the day! Gardened till I thought my legs and arms were going to drop off today - stopped to watch the cup final - shouldn`t have bothered - it was more exciting weeding! Was very flat for a while this morning, thinking how different my day would have been today had we gone through. Had a pair of tickets in my hot little hands too - next time, I will not try and get tickets in advance of qualifying - can`t help feeling that the Gods were telling me not to count my chickens! Hey-ho, you live and learn!

Pleased you`re feeling a bit better Jay! Good of LR to throw in that charming `in your face` comment the other day when you weren`t feeling well! Definately not a `new` man! (:o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Always three steps behind everyone else - guess you are both having an early night (separately, of course). Think I`ll join you - oh God, good job Gav`s not on here at the weekends! Anyway, you both knew what I meant! Off to snuggle up with a nice cup of coffee and shall probably finish Birdsong tonight. Wheyhey - I don`t half live it up sometimes! (:o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

No I am still here, been on the dog and bone to a mate in trouble !! A friend in need and all that

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Very strange dead sort of cup final day wasn`t it> (:o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I found that I couldn't watch any of the build up switched on the TV at 2;55pm and promtply fell alseep until half time!

Did you hear that the cup final is to be played before the end of the season next year?? That's not right

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

No I didn`t hear that! Just wouldn`t feel right would it - it`s like the end of term party - they do have some strange ideas sometimes don`t they! Oh well - that`s me finished for the night - two glasses of red wine and my knees start buckling - I such a party animal! Speak to you tomorrow! (:o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

That is the idea Jay....played on the Saturday and then the last match of the league season the following sunday......the great Lord Sly of Grabyamoneyland has decreed that the Premier League must be given the higher profile that the FA Cup in future.........The stupidest one has to be that, as Wembley is being pulled down, they have to find somewhere else to stage the cup final until the new stadium is built and the favourite at the moment is..............wait for it........it's coming along.......................yes...........................here its comes................................................................. ...................................................................... ...............................the favourite to stage the match is the Millenium Stadium in Bliddy Cardiff......for gods sake....who runs this shower........Shepherd, Hall and Fletcher or what!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Jay.....the webiste address is:

http://www.dailytoon.co.uk

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Much at it pains me to say this Old Trafford would be the best place to hold the final....unless ManUre decree to enter next year then they will have to pick somewhere with 60,000+ capacity. The FA have gone mad.

The 3rd round is in January again I see.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I think that OT would be a good possibilty as would SJP (when its finished), Villa Park, Highbury, WHL and even Le Stade de Merde if push came to shove, but it has got to be in this country.......depending on who contests the final can determine which of a number of grounds is used..........

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Hello. Am I too late to join in? I'm wide awake now 'cos like Jay, I dozed off duringthe FAC thingy. God it was boring. Bliddy quiet as well.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

You need at least a 60,000 ground. Playing the English Premiership FA cup final in Wales is bloody stupid.

It's time the FA worked out that most of the top clubs are based in the ruddy North and Middle of England. Did that sound bitter ??? ;o)))

The Toon, The Mackems, Man U, Bradford, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Everton, Man City, Leeds, The Smogs, etc....

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Evening Screacher....I even washed my windows during the cup final, shows you how bad I thought it was. I don't do windows

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Jay, Could you spare a half hour or so and do wor windy's? I'll do your hedge if you like. Talking of which, guess what I did today (after I get me hair cut)? Dunno which got the closest shave. God, it's cold tonight.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Evening Screacher......you think it was bad having a hair and hedge cut.....I was so bored by it that I actually did some work......sit down, swoon and scream I don't belive it........but its true!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I don't have a hedge....tell you want I will wash your windows if you paint my front room??? ;o)))

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I think the FA will have to ask Newton Heath not to enter again next season so that they can use OT for the final. Twickers won't play ball. It's OK playing rugby at Wembley but you can't spoil there place. We've got the wrong shaped balls apparently.

Actually, against ITK's judgement, I think the Millenium Stadium (how "old hat", eh?) wouldn't be a bad place. How big is it (calm dowm Galaxy)? At least it won't be local for any lucky Lahndaan buggers who make it to the final. Bliddy long way from Toon mind. Let's got for OT instead!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I sort of hoped you might not have a hedge. I don't do front rooms.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

The Toon have been at We,bley three time in three years and this particulary 'lucky lahndaan b@st@rd' hasn't managed to get a ticket for any of the bliddy games.........Might as well play at Glasgow....or how about Lansdowne Road....sorry......I have nothing against the Millenium Stadium....I'm sure it is a very nice place, but it has to be played in England surely. ;0)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Hey Jay......Screacher can only do bedrooms........he has to have a lie down every twenty minutes.....or so I'm told :0)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I currently have a traffic Island in my Kichen, which consists of a 8ft piece of skirting board resting on tins on beans. I painted it before the match kicked off, trying no to get any on my new kitchen floor.

I am never doing DIY again!!!!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

It probably would have been more effective to put the wood on the tins of paint and apply the beans to it.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I see Ronnie reckons Domi's on his way. Lyon, possibly PSG but hopefully not Liverpool. #4M. Waddyafink?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

20 mins eh. Well he could get a wall done at at time then? He will have to lie on the floor, as I tend to dismantle the bed while painting !! ;o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Do people normally...........

.......sorry, I'll read that again.......

Don;t normal people put the wood on the wall before they paint it? Or is that where I've been going wrong for the last 30 years?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Agree about the 'Pool but I would have put him closer to #5.5m than #4m - mind you, going to Liverpool isn't that bad, a bit like Tottenham, everyone we have sold them have done next to nothing when they have gone back to SJP.....the last decent move like that was Terry Mac

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

20 mins is an average day. Less than 10 if I've been doing the hedge. Have been known to do 30 mins on a Bank Holiday.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

So you don't think Bearsley was any good at 'pool?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Damn - my "D" id sticky tonight!!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I pulled the other piece of skirting off, as it was only 4 inch and the rest of the room has 6 inch skirting. So I decorated the room then bought the skirting. I painted it off the wall so not to mark the wallpaper. Did any of that make sense?

They reckon Lepoof is off to Lyon too.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Jay....you don't run a guest house do you........not so long ago I stayed in this really cheap guest house and when I checked in the Landlady said....you don't mind making your own bed do you? and when I said no I didn't mind, she handed me a hammer and some nails and said the bits were in the corner of the room.......sounds very similar to your place........

Alright, I'll get my coat.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

......and you'd think I'd been drinking......but I haven't touched a drop - honest. Wele, yuo rty typimg in eht drak.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Will that be your undercoat or the top coat?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

No Scrach, I'm not aying that, but if memory serves, he never really did that much when he came back to play for them SJP, and that's always my biggest bug bear.......sell a player and they come back and bite you!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I really, really, really do hope LePoof is on his way out of the EPL. He's the one player I absolutely detest. Can't stand the b@st@rd. There's not even a Newton Heath player or even a Mackem I hate as much as him.

Bugger - now you've got me going. Nurse - I need a drink. At the double!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Right - I'm off. Before I have a coronary thinking about LePoof. If I have a nightmare now, I know who to blame. See youse the morra??

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

BTW - I didn't know Scrach was on here tonight. Thought he'd still be at the Far Post.

Tarra then.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Come on Screach this is the 21st Century, one coat only !! ;o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Agree about Le Poof, but I would also name Scam and Eagerboy at Newton Heath and the Munchkin at le Stade de Merde as being on a par in the hatered stakes.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I played cricket today (or yesterday I suppose asits 00:10).

Got soaked - out for a duck 3rd ball. Then the opposition wimped about the rain and we all came home. Oh the joys of Macclesfield in May.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Hey Josh.....ducks often get soaked....its something to do with sitting on ponds.......

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

....was it crispy or covered in orange sauce?

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Woooooshhhhhh.....Out for a what....ehhh I will never understand cricket?!?!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Eagerboy??? Ah Keane. Very good. Actually, I like Stam and rate Keane as a player. Mind, as a human being........

And Munchkin - well, he's only a bairn. I may hate him more if he scores against us again next season. But I realy hate Frank LePoof. Aarrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Sounds like Josh could be in line for a call up for Zimbabwe against England's superstars in the 2nd test.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Jay.....you might not understand much about cricket.....but that was a 'D' at the start of that word....so don't get too excited!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Yeah - calm down woman. Pucks are used in ice hockey, and it wasn't that cold today.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Oh yes and I left the car passenger window wide open until Tea (posh cricket term for half time). Somebody'll be in the wet bit tomorrow.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Screacher......I just hate the way they go on on the pitch. I've long said that they are the two biggest problems as far as Newton Heath's behaviour is concerned, and for a captain to go on the way he does is an absolute disgrace.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Hey Josh......you're not gonna put your lass on the wet patch again are you......you sod!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

You two both have dirty minds. I have never looked at cricket that way

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

What do you mean 'dirty minds' I resent that remark.....level with a sewer perhaps but nothing as petty as just dirty!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

So what way do you look at cricket? Being in Yorkshire (well,Hull used to be in Yorkshire) you must hear plenty about it.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

I don't here much about it. But its just lots of men running about in white outfits, shouting how's that!

I just don't think of it as a sport

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Damn - I forgot. I said I was off to bed. G'nite.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Jay Cricket ?

Today I turned up at 1:30 (we were short I was making up the numbers). Got changed and watched us bat I was no 10 2nd last in so it was about 3:45 when I walked out from the pavilion. 3 balls later I was back.

The last man in lasted 4 balls. We then had tea for 30 minutes - got back out to let the opposition bat - 1 over later they wimped about the rain and that was it - 4:30 game over. We hung around for 30 minutes or so but canned it at 5.

I suppose I took about 7 minutes active participation in the game in about 3 1/2 hours.

And I enjoyed it - funny game cricket. Oh yes and #5 subs !

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

This is what happens when I try to read quickly through the posts....I thought ITK was saying he hated when Keane goes on the pitch. yikes! ;-))

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Yeah me to....busy day tomorrow more DIY ahhhhhhh.

Night all, see ya tomorrow.

:o)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

You must get educated Jay........they do all the running around and you just sit on the side, drinking for hours on end, hopefully in the sunshine (in England ha!) eating cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and getting merrily p*ssed out of the brain........

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Its half past midnight and it seems that everyone is going to bed, ah well.....as they have just said in the TV.....They Think it's all over...........it is now!

G'night all......back in the office tomorrow afternoon till midnight again......

Oh and BTW Ciara.....he probably does that on the pitch as well!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Yep saa yah ITK - I'll be around on Monday night thru til 3 ish I'll start a thread.

Night night everybody.

Boing

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

If any of youse are still around, go to www.sundaymirror.co.uk.

They're in the process of updating the site with tomorrow's news and have a rather odd juxtapositionn of Photo of the Week and caption. ;-)

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Speaks volumes Ciara....speaks bliddy volumes.

Mind you, Dennis Wise is probably adamn site better looking than that Blair Witch.

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Hee...it's a must visit site for me on Saturday nights. Even if I go out, they usually haven't completed the updates by the time I'm home. Last weeks photo was of the rugby players lifting their cup with a caption about troops in Sierra Leone celebrating a temporary let up in fighting...or something bizarre like that.

On looking further into the sports pages, however, there is a horrifying story saying LaPoof now wants to stay at Chelsea. Arrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!

-- Anonymous, May 20, 2000

Oh Ciara. That's just not fair. Not fair at all. No sooner had I been reminded of that nasty piece of French stuff (which caused me horrendous nightmares), the first thing I see this morning when I wake up is the fact the b*gg*r might still be around next year. Ah well, I'll just have to console myself (is that a PC thing to do??) with the memories of Big Al running rings round him. Perhaps I should send the video to that nice Mr Vialli to remind him just how pants his CB is.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Please do, Screach. And you might want to throw in that little diving exhibition he put on yesterday after getting a slight tap of knee to his behind. You'd think he'd been shot the way he was carrying on! Oh well, if he is around next season at least he can look forward to Big Al administering a few more proper kickings. >:-)

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Did you see the arrogant git saying there were only 5 clubs that he would stoop to going to? None of which would want the diving, cheating nob. Check out the big-headed f.....r's website http://www.frankleboeuf.com.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Actually it's not a bad looking site. Especially as player pages go. Of course the English version of the site isn't up, and my 1 semester of college French makes it entirely too painful and time consuming trying to translate anything. Time better spent doing things like bathing the cat, scrubbing the toilet, cleaning behind the fridge, etc. ;-))

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

And things like I have done today. Washed the conservatory floor, built a bookself, painted the kitchen, sealed the worktops!! Hell I even washed the rest of the windows.....I will never hold another party, to much work involved.

;o)

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Ciara,

"...that little diving exhibition he put on yesterday after getting a slight tap of knee to his behind."

He is an unbelievable fanny (that's a quaint Geordie term for "big girl's blouse"). The way he went down I thought at the very least he had a broken bum!

French tosser.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

He was clutching his butt, but SKY reckoned he had injured his knee?!?!

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Please. can we change the subject before I am violently sick. Or just violent.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Okay anyone see the Grand Prix?

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Yep. I did (and I bet Softie do as well). It was pretty good eh? I had a brilliant idea. Why don't they install sprinklers at the edge of every track? They could soak the track at random, just like the weather did today, and the spectators would still be kept dry and have a far more enjoyable race to watch. I dunno why Bernie hasn't thought of this already. Can I copyright the idea?

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Guess what I did today (apart from watch the GP).

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Well it wasn't painting my sitting room!!!

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Oh damn. I knew there was something else.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Right - I'm off for an early night. Got to get up at the crack of dawn to catch a train to Lahndaan. See youse the morra.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Oh god no.....man the barricades.....chop off the railway lines, the Screacer man is coming to town!

(;0)

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

sorry, that should have been Screacher......my blind panic I'm afraid

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Well, it's been as grim on here today as the FAC Final.
'Night all - washing day tomorrow!

BTW, Jay - stay off the Ronseal 'cos remember, it does precsely what it says on the tin.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Yeah I will do Clarky !

I am off to as I have to get up for work in the morning.

Night all and take care

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Lordy, Jay! YOu've sure been busy!! Can I hire you to work on my place when I eventually move over there? I'm useless at DIY, but quite handy at providing the beer and food. :-)
