winoncd 3.7 question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

as most of you know the winon 3.7 poweredtion (with servce pack upgrade) will not accpet highrate vcd stuff. So i figured if i make a video cd with menus and all and then save this as an image file, then open the image file with wordpad, change the mpeg stuff i have with the ones i want then save it. This may possibly be a little trick to get my highrate stuff with menus and all using winon cd 3.7, since no version of video pack 4 wants to work on my system. Either that my version is screwy (always gives an error for the cd image, yet when i check it afterwards its fine and all there)or its just a glitch, i dont know. BUT when i do open it in word pad the majority of it is in little squares meaning word pad cannot read whats there. I guess maybe what i would need more would have been a que sheet of somekind that winon does not supply. But in genral is their a way to view the cd image file in wordpad for this program or is their somekind of patch to allow higher rate stuff through?/ It doesnt make sense that they allow highrates for their video pack 4, and not their winoncd. thanks excuse all if any typos its pretty damn early

Doug,

The little squares you are referring to are ascii symbols for binary file. I do believe the image file created by vp4 is in binary format. Look for a binary reader/editor to work with this file.
