The Toffs Facilities

Got hold of a copy of the new NUFC Corporate Hospitality Brochure. There are several new hospitality suites in Levels 3 & 4 in the Milburn Stand, as follows:

SUITECAPACITYCOSTREVENUE
Bamburgh1,250#2,850#3,563,000
Kielder288#3,500#1,008,000
Warkworth104#4,000#416,000
Alnwick100#4,500#450,000
Brancepeth250#2-3,000#625,000
T.Bennett4#28,000#112,000
Magpie Rm125#4,500#562,500
Sports Bar573#995#2,109,000
Bar 18921,562#1,350#570,000
..Total#9,415,000

Well the potential revenue of #9.4mm would certainly cover Shearer and Maric's wages with just a little bit to spare. [nb:this is my first attempt at an html table, and the probability of success must be <0.01%. No 'off line' draft to review & correct. Oh well here goes, universal ridicule beckons.]

Jamie Alexander has obviously got a better grip on HTML than his grandad!

He comes on the BBS scene and wallop.....posting tables any everything....bliddy kids these days, they know everything man.

the revenue figures for the bottom two lines are transposed

the other thing worth noting is that they have just put revenue as the cost of getting in, I'd guess they're hoping people will actually buy booze in these places. The 2000 going in the 'cheap areas' shoule be expected to spend #5 a game = #100 per season = #200,000 per year.

On a more general point does anyone no anyone who is going to pay #995 for the Sports Bar ? It works out at roughly #600 for the option of buying a pintin these places. I may be wrong but I expect this to add the clubs PR disasters .... they've moved all these people and then they'll find no-one wants to take up the new opportunity.

What do you get for your Bennett ?

I can see the logic of the rest of the names, but since when was Tony Bennett a Toon supporter.....and who are the four he brings with him.....

Right that's me half shift done. Off to watch the footy. I'll go The Old gits 2-1 but I'm not really arsed.

The Gordon Bennett Facility

It may be a little too small to read but I tried

Ermm, perhaps that is a little too small try this:

My friend has a season ticket in the Gallowgate and she was offered the opportunity of upgrading to the Sports Bar for a mere #580 or thereabouts extra. Needless to say she declined. Makes you wonder who will take up these seats tho'. They'll probably eventually offer them to the likes of me and Rik on the waiting list to see how desperate we are! :-(

MacBeth,

You win the prize for spotting my deliberate error designed entirely to see who else was really awake this morning. The Prize? Oh yes, it's Wor Jamie's very first cr@ppy nappy, bronzed & mounted - please supply delivery address: preferably just as soon as possible!

Macbeth/IKT,

TB is sadly not the immortal Tony, but the ever-mysterious Trevor Bennett. I seem to recall he loaned the Club #500k some time ago in exchange for which he was made a Vice President.
Unsurpisingly, the TB suite is described as the most exclusive corporate facility in "the new stadium" - a term that itself irritates me as it is NOT a new stadium, but an ancient one tarted up. I wonder if the reference to "new stadium" sublety relates to some ubiquitious tax ruse?
In the TB Suite there appear to be 4 places available at #28,000 per seaon. "The package gives an excellent opportunity to have a close association with the Club, and includes a number of unique benefits, including":
* hospitality for all home games (including CL!!!)
* seating in the Directors Box
* champagne reception on arrival
* silver service waitressing
* the opportunity to travel with the First Team to all away European fixtures, including flights, accomodation, meals and hopsitality at the games [this should prove really attractive next season!]
* car parking at SJP
* perimater advertising board (non-TV site)
* acknowledgement in all matchday programmes
* hospitality for 10 guests at one home fixture in the Bamburgh Suite
* complimentary match programmes
* licensed betting facilities
* NUFC hostess available at all times [Hmm? Doug & Fred's cast off's perchance?]
* TV screens situated in the suite
* use of NUFC Executive Lounge at N/C Airport

Clearly, a bargain at only #28k per seaon! Don't all rush at once.

Clearly square brackets have some significance in html code!
For those interested, my obliterated comments were as follows:

* the opportunity to travel with the First Team to all away European fixtures, including flights, accomodation, meals and hopsitality at the games (this should prove really attractive next season!)
* NUFC hostess available at all times (Hmm? Doug & Fred's cast off's perchance?)

I'm afraid I don't understand what's happened to my bracketed comments, and I give up - perhaps they were censored?

Galaxy,

I haven't opened your greeting yet as it requires me to download a plug-in to access it.

Given the speed of my connection to the "Information M25", I'll need to do the download at ca.3am to avoid my machine being tied up up for the next 10 hrs. Really appreciate the thought though, and trust me I will get it. BTW, Yahoo have a good collection of greetings that I have used from time to time.

Wot - no Cambois Suite? They'll regret it one of these days.

BTW Clarky. Your square brackets have done wonders for the "Reply" button. Clivver bugga.

Clarky - seem to have sent you a bit of a problem - sorry! To save ten hours of downloading time, perhaps I should just describe it! It was a `new baby` card with six little chubbies on it. You had to press each one, which then made cute baby noises and held up a card with a letter on it - spelling `Way 2 Go! Fun, but not that much fun! (:o)

This phrase particularly stood out to me...
the opportunity to travel with
Sorry, but for 28k...I don't want opportunities to stump up more money..I want my travel all-expenses paid! :-)
