It's a boy!!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

The young lady that was my sweet baby daughter, what seems just a few short years ago, gave birth to a baby boy 30 minutes ago - big bugger @10lbs (ouch!).

It's a really strange feeling when your baby gives birth - nice but queer.

They haven't been able to agree a name, so I've been calling him Temuri. However, they plumped for Jamie Alexander, mid-battle as it were.

Yeeessssssssssss!!

Oh Clarky - that made me want to cry! I both dread it and look forward to the day Yelli starts a family (preferably in the time honoured traditional married way). What wonderful news for you and yours. Grandad! (is it your first grandchild?) Spookily enough, Yelli was going to be James Alexander if she had been a boy!

10lbs - that nearly made me cry too! (:o)

Well done, I too find the thought of my wee girl (11 at the moment) ever being a mum, and consequently me then sleeping with a granny !

-- Anonymous, May 19, 2000

Well done Grandad. Congrats to all concerned.

Congratulations to all, Clarky! :-)

Temuri! Love it! Bald and unable to speak English or stay on his feet? Ha ha ha!

Congratulations to all concerned (not just those concerned about the 10lbs!). This bbs brings such a lot of pleasure. The internet is supposed to turn us into a bunch of geeks incapable of connecting with other human beings, but this feels more like the Waltons every day. Tremendous!

Thanks for your kind thoughts gang - I can't begin to tell you how I feel. However, I've managed to stop spinning long enough to sit down and type semi-coherently for a couple of minutes. Jamie is actually our second grandchild, with my elder son's wife having had a girl amost exactly 12 months ago.

I'm just so thrilled to have biologically engineered the long-term solution to our Centre Back problem - at 10lbs to start with, Dab's future partner is halfway there already. I'll be measuring him up for footy boots tomorrow morning.

Keep a space Beardo, there's a big un coming along.

Hey Clarky - your daughter isn't called Cheri is she? Nah, didn't think so.

Ela Papoos,

Congrats to all!

Congratulations to all the Clarkie family.......

It was with great trepidation that I opened this thread cos when I saw the title I thought it was certain to refer to the Sedgefield Sl@ptw@t.....oh how I was pleased it didn't.....

Love Softies idea of why he was called Temuri.......but great names as well.......

I've got a cousin who has two lads, one called Jamie and one called Alexander....they are both in their 20's...and judging by Galaxy's posting they are obviously still a popular combination of names.

Pass on everyone's congrat's Clarky.....and don't get too ratted.....

Wonderful news Clarky, congratulations to you and all your family.

Many Congratulations and good wishes to the whole family, Clarky.

According to Chinese traditions, it is traditional for the new mother to stay home and rest to regain her strength for a month, so should avoid going out at all. (In fact, many of the 'glitterati' leave the baby in the hospital for the first four weeks. No Kidding !). She should eat plenty of pickled pig knuckles and chicken cooked in wine.

The mother must also restore the balance of yin (female, dark, and cold) -typical! -and yang (male, bright, and hot)- Yeah, right ! - in her body. Because it is believed that the woman has too much yin after giving birth, she should eat only warming foods and avoid showering or getting chilled in any way. So a great deal of cosseting is in order, Clarky.

Welcome to our global world, young Jamie Alexander. I think you're going to love it.

val and fifties fan. Love to all Clarky

Welcome to the world, Jamie Alexander. xxxxxxxxx

Val & FF,

Thanks so much for the advice from the Orient. I'll certainly pass it to 'Mum', verbatim - naturally, we must ensure we get her yin and yang back in balance.
We've been in to to see young Jamie today. Spookily, he is EXACTLY how I remember his mum when she was first born; equally placid - fond but distant memories came flooding back, especially when 'Grandma' took her obligatory cuddle of the young un.
All very nostalgic and emotional; life moves on - but the sweetest of memories linger.

Galaxy,

I take it you've been watching the Cup Final then? Just watched it on't video as I had a far more important mission this afternoon. It had me in tears also!

Congratulations Clarky. My best wishes to the family. I'm sure you'll do your best to let them know there is only one United.

Rest easy Jonno, I know where my responsibilities lie.

'er indoors had a special trip yesterday to the NUFC shop to get a full set of B&W togs, just to be on the safe side - you never know some of these nurses just might be closet mackems.

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Clarky, Nicola is a neo-natal nurse and caused an 'incident' at the RVI when she dressed a mackem(ptuh!) baby in Toon kit. 1-0 to us at the moment!

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Softy,

There you go, just proves my concerns were well founded. You just never know where a makem might be lurking!

Nicola is a Geordie, Nicola is a Geordie, a ya ya ya, a ya ya ya, (repeat) .....................

-- Anonymous, May 21, 2000

Nice one Clarky. Now can you get your player factory to turn out a couple of wingers please..... at least one left footed!!

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

Nee problem Geordie - I'm left-footed so there's a good chance we could manage that.
OK, so thats 1 CB (large), and 2 Wingers (minimum of one lefty).
Anything else, sir? A keeper perhaps?

Over the moon, but green with envy. My two are 'career people', and time's running out. I'd love to go through what you are - have done for years, but no signs yet.

Regards to grandparents, parents and grandchildren, including new grandson.

Yeah, it's a bit formal that, but how else could I hang onto the reputation of being the most miserable owld git on here ? :-))

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

Congratulations Clarky!!!

Not something I ever want to happen to me.....I'll kill the little shit who goes anywhere near my daughter and I don't care how victorian anyone thinks I am!!

My daughters 13 now and I'm scared sh**less that she'll meet someone just like me....or worse!!

Anyway.....Congratulations again!! sorry about my little rant there :))

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

Congrats Clarky, a grandson! A king-size grandson! Live long and prosper little Jamie Alexander. My youngest daughter is now 2 whole weeks old but don't get any ideas, she wants a much younger man.
