Carol Who?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I thought the final episode was great, but what happened to Carol? No one even talked about her or mentioned she was gone. I expected a little something. I mean they have mentioned Lucy every once in a while, and no one seems to care that Carol is gone. Especially Luka and Greene didn't seem too sad about it.

I think it was odd that no one even said her name. If I just did't show up for work for days I guess somebody would notice.

I thought that it was strange as well. At least one line or something between the nurses about who was going to take over Carol's job. Oh well.

I fogrot all about Carol until you brought her up. Is not that I didn't love Carol and Doug but as soon as the epi started I was engaged with the developing story I didn't even remember last week's epi. I'm sure they'll talk about Carol in the next season, I'd like to hear the ER members' comments about her leaving to be with Doug. It was a GREAT epi last night, I loved it!

Since Carol didn't take her twins with her when she flew to Seattle, my guess would be she just flew out there to see, as she told Luka, if Doug was still in love with her. She still has to come back to Chicago to sell her house, pack up and move, etc., and I can't imagine she would leave County without a big going-away party! I guess that's just one of those things that happens in TV land that we viewers never get to see.

Yeah, I was kind of looking forward to hearing about Carol, despite that I bet anything JM didn't want a sentimental goodbye (and so she didn't get one, on stage) and she probably didn't want everyone muling over her later. But I would like to hear something about her...other's reactions to her being with Doug. One of the things I was looking forward to most was Mark's reaction. It woudl seem weird to mention her next season, it will have been so long...maybe Mark will mention returning from their wedding! I think maybe some people thoguht Luka was missing her, as he sat alone by the EL, without her to talk to now.

I thought that possibly this epi was supposed to be taking place while Carol was still in Seattle seieng Doug. If she was taking several days off it would make sense that no one would mention it as being important yet, because nothing had happened yet.

I would have liked hearing something about them too, but I think Laura has it - she's probably only been gone for a few days and with the school shooting going on, they just haven't had time to talk about it yet. I do hope they mention SOMETHING next season though - we probably won't see her, but couldn't we at least hear about a wedding or something? Did you happen to notice that she was out of the opening credits sequence? The silence between Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle was really noticeable to me!

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to be "Carol who?" as in she wasn't missed. It wasn't that I didn't like her, but I have to admit that I never even thought of her once during the entire epi. Luka was having such a bad day (the blow up with Benton, being shot at, the baby). I guess I did think of her, now that I think about it, when he was on the train platform and looked so very alone. He saved the little boy who was shot but lost the baby and knows he and Benton are going to be at odds (two weeks in a row). When he didn't get onto the train, I wondered why...then thought it was because he didn't have anyone to go to. Now how sad is that?

I guess I should have read the other threads first, because I posted one with the exact same title, Carol Who? However, I seem to be the the minority because I didn't miss Carol at all. I really thought I would. However, it wasn't until the end of the episode that I even realized that she was gone.

Come on people!! Update this ER page. More people have to start writing new entries on these topics. Am I going to be the only one? Did everyone forget about this page or something? These entries were written so long ago and there aren't any newer ones except for the ones that I wrote. Thank You!!

Kim, see the ADMINISTRATIVE section and then the thread titled "Posting Disabled Until Further Notice." Until we can play nice again and Mike has time to clean the site up, we're on standby except for old threads. Hopefully we'll be back by May sweeps. I miss (almost) everyone. :)
