Downloading shooting data from F100

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I have read on photo.net that it is possible to download shooting data from the F90X onto certain Sharp electronic organisers, thereby achieving at least some of what Photo Secretary can do. I have a F100 and a Sharp organiser which I know can exchange data with a PC. I don't need any of the customising features of Photo Secretary, but would like to be able to download basic shooting data eg shutter speeds and apertures: can anyone confirm whether this is possible with the F100, and what connecting leads etc are required if it is? The instruction manual only mentions Photo Secretary. Thanks, Alistair.

The main problem is the cable, in some countries you can get the cable alone (the F90X and F100 use different types). There was a freeware MS-DOS based software by cocoon.com on the net. It is DOS, but definitely enough to do everything, parameter changes, start recording and downloading. Don't know whether the freeware is available for the F100. The same company also offered the own cables.

This all applies to camera - PC connections. The connection to a sharp organizer is probably outdated, I would assume it was already outdated, when the F100 came to the market, and it therefore not possible at all.
