Dream thread

I have this recurring dream (every fortnight, I reckon) in which I arrive at the top of some steep stairs, mountain, building and I am terrified about getting back down again and need all sorts of assistance (not unlike my performance on the statue at Trafalgar Square). I had this dream last night where I was at the Royal Opera House watching Madam Butterly and realised I was in the Gods and couldn't get back down again. They got the fire brigade in to carry me down as I was so terrified of using the stairs. Half way down, I saw this lass from school who used to be a real bully and demanded that the fireman let me down so I could clamber along her row and give her a gobful about how she ruined school for almost everyone who was there. Any suggestions as to meaning?

Nope....only suggestion I have for you is not to post requests for assitance with dreams like this cos all these pop psychologists are now gonna tell you it's freudian and related to your inability to have sex with your dad or something :((

Vell, it seems to me as zo zer problem ve haf here is zat you haf zer zerious fear off failure brought about by zer bullying off zis ozer girl. Maybe you feel zat your inability to reach zer top off your profession is due to zer lack off confidence you suffer from zis girl You recognize zat it iss all her fault and vould like to be able to tell her zis.

Eizer zat or else you are upzet zat you cannot make mitt der rumpy pumpy mitt your fader.

Well, Dougal, it seems to indicate a fear of loosing touch with your roots - ie the ground. Your so intent on reaching the top, that once your there you don't really want to be. The ROH is another symbol of acheivement, which comingles with the herat theme. When you descend, you pass by other in your life, namely the bully, the implication being that you were way above her despite the set back she gave you and others

Either that,or your worrying about what it'll be l;ike at St James' next season...;-))

Dougal,

Just lie on the couch over there and somebody will come over to attennd to you in a while. Don't worry if you start to feel a little sleepy (tho it might make Big Ken a bit grumpy).
